Team spirit
Last week we set off together to the snowy mountains of Davos. Since MD Systems was again part of the organizing committee and responsible for finding sponsors for this event, we were already actively setting up and setting up for the Drupal Mountain Camp in the Davos Congress Center in the early hours of the morning.
The first slot about the Drupal universe started at 10 am. This was followed by the first get-together with coffee and fruit. Our two new employees quickly became the number one topic of conversation and the topic of inclusion was given a four-legged denominator.
Splash Awards 2025
At the end of the first day, we could hardly contain our excitement and were delighted when the Splash Awards were finally presented. We were able to take home another "drop" with our"Rebranding Website PSI" project.
Familiar faces
Our partner (Andrew Melck, platform.sh) and our customer (Manfred Ruef, UNICEF) on stage together - we couldn't have arranged this combination any better. This gives us the opportunity to listen and look at our joint project from a different perspective. A change of perspective and everything appears in a new light and the topic "Reduction of the CO2 footprint and sustainable hosting" takes on a little more weight again. The aim of this project was to reduce the environmental impact, ensure data security in Switzerland and deliver consistently reliable performance. After a brief evaluation and migration meeting with platform.sh (which recently launched a hosting service in Switzerland), we found the solution. And now we are sitting in the auditorium and can enjoy the "show" sustainably and without a guilty conscience.

Own lectures
This year, MD Systems once again had the opportunity to give its own take on two topics. Ivica and Miro kicked things off on Wednesday with the topic "Cookie Consent and GDPR in Drupal: Navigating Legal and Technical Challenges". In this presentation, they drew attention to the legal requirements for data protection under regulations such as GDPR and the Swiss Data Protection Act and focused on key topics such as transparency, consent and data minimization. The distinction between data collection for analytics and tracking and between essential and non-essential cookies and their impact on compliance was also discussed.
On Thursday afternoon, it was Sascha's turn to take a critical look at: "Recipes - How Drupal CMS is being built". Sascha gave an overview of what recipes are and are not, what features they include, how Drupal CMS and Paragraphs use recipes and how they can be used in general.
Great presentations
During the three days of Drupal Mountain Camp, we were able to take part in various exciting workshops, presentations and information slots. The presentation by Vera Herzmann on the topic of neurodiversity stood out the most for us. This is an area of interest to which we devote ourselves intensively and also inform the public about it ourselves.
Once again this year, the highlight was the cohesion in the Drupal community and the many different people who came together to share information, knowledge and experiences. Refreshing every year, inspiring every year, simply beautiful every year.
The secret star of the Drupal Mountain Camp 2025 was our new employee Percy, who created general enthusiasm and made the two-legged participants of the event shine with his manner.
