Miro Dietiker and Gabriele Fackler present the results of their comprehensive research on e-inclusion at the IT Procurement Conference.
The digitization of society and, in a narrower sense, e-government can only work if everyone can participate. For this to happen, offerings must be created to be accessible in an inclusive manner.
The Swiss federal administration already set an example in 2010 by committing itself to accessibility in all its digital services.
The obligation for companies operating in the EU area is already foreseeable from 2025 due to the European Accessibility Act EAA. Swiss organizations can already integrate accessibility into new projects. This avoids costly rework and can open up a 25% larger market.
A considerable part of the potential customers is dependent on the accessibility of a service. Especially the strongly affected older target audience is one of the high spenders. Therein lies a great potential - with growing tendency among other things with the aging of the society. And everyone else also benefits from optimized and easy-to-use processes.
So e-inclusion pays off several times over.
